Seated Photographers
Vision Statement
To promote the seated photographer and their view of the world as they see it from where they sit.
The Seated Photographers aim to do for the arts what Paralympics Olympics have done for sport , through the Exhibition "From Where I Sit".
Mission Statement
Engage…
The viewer, using life like barriers, to see images that portray this different world.
Enlighten…
The community through having them physically participating. The images are viewed behind a barrier and the viewer is seated in a wheelchair.
Summary
By placing the seated photographer as an integral participant in the world of arts, we hope to build more awareness of diversity and the importance of inclusion.
The Seated Photographers Trust is a work in progress
- Proceeds from all exhibition sales will go into a Trust Fund
- This Trust will fund education into the world of arts for those who qualify and open up employment opportunities
- In 2020 only 48.2 percent of young disabled people (15–24 years) were not in employment, education, or training, compared with 10.6 percent for non- disabled youth. This continues into employment with only 22.5% of disabled people being employed in 2020.
Further funds will be made available for special photographic equipment to be adapted to some wheelchairs
