Kylee was 22 when she was diagnosed with a genetic connective-tissue disorder. She set up Spirit Sparkplugs, an organisation that collects gifts for ill children.

In 2012, she moved to Hamilton and connected with Enabling Good Lives, a programme run by both the disability sector and government, which helps people with disabilities take control back by choosing what sort of care they need.
